Maternal Health Program
Supporting Mothers with Justice-Involved Needs
Our Maternal Health Program is a specialized extension of ICMS-ODR, created to support expectant and new mothers who are navigating mental health challenges, homelessness, and the complexities of reentry after justice-system involvement. Established at Alcott in 2024, this program provides compassionate, coordinated assistance designed to ensure stability, safety, and continuity of care during pregnancy and early motherhood.
How We Help
Guidance for Mothers Navigating the Legal System
This program offers structured, compassionate assistance for expectant and new mothers who are working through reentry requirements and justice-system obligations while also managing mental health and housing challenges. Our team coordinates closely with partner agencies to ensure support remains consistent, informed, and grounded in each mother’s needs.
In-person engagement that provides ongoing support, regular contact, and stabilization for mothers balancing reentry responsibilities and daily life.
Assistance identifying temporary housing options, completing required applications, and working toward long-term stability.
Connection to mental health treatment, medical providers, community resources, and programs matched to each mother’s circumstances.
Guidance around court requirements, mandated appointments, and justice-system processes that impact expectant and new mothers.
Biweekly coordination to review referrals and ensure care aligns with medical and legal needs during pregnancy and postpartum stages.
Support from doulas involved in DHS’s maternal health program, providing added encouragement and guidance throughout pregnancy and early motherhood.
Individualized goal-setting and structured support designed to meet each mother where she is and help strengthen long-term stability.
Connection to higher levels of care when needs increase, ensuring safety and continuity during vulnerable periods.
